I have started to notice recycling bins for plastic bags in local grocery stores. Both the Vons and Smiths in my area have containers set up just inside of their entrances for collecting used bags.
There’s been lots of speculation about Michael Jackson headlining a show in Las Vegas in the near future. An article from the WSJ actually has The Gloved-One living out in Pahrump and writing songs!
The Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that some brothels are offering creative incentives: gas cards. Spend a certain amount of your tax rebate check and get more “bang” for your buck.
Remember that prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas so would-be patrons need to drive as far as 150 miles each way to visit a brothel. Gas cards are a way to offset the rising price of fuel and to lure visitors out of Clark County.
Gaming stocks have lost more than $50B in value since last summer. Never again. That’s how I’ll describe my opinion of Mimmo Ferraro’s. Billed as a “local favorite” and a restaurant that appears in many “best of Las Vegas” lists one would expect dinner here to be at least passable. Instead, we found the food to be mediocre at best, way overpriced and the service to be downright insulting.
Our waiter spent more time at the bar chatting with his pals than tending to his tables. We watched a distressed couple get up angrily and leave after waiting over 15 minutes for him to take their order. In hindsight, they were lucky because they didn’t spend any money there.
The restaurant had only a handful of diners at dinnertime on a Saturday night so I don’t think Mimmo Ferraro’s is much of a local favorite anymore.
