I have seen Steve Wynn’s Encore advertised a lot on television lately. It has to be a tough time to launch a $2.7 billion casino with visitor numbers and casino revenues down. There can’t be much enthusiasm for an over-the-top luxury hotel given the economic climate. There are over 2,000 rooms to fill so I hope the ads work.
In the past I made it a point to go visit the shiny new casinos when they opened but I have yet to see Encore.

CityCenter is hiring! The company needs to fill 12,000 positions which represents the biggest single job opportunity ever in Las Vegas. ARIA Resort & Casino, Vdara Hotel & Spa and Crystals, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas and The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences are all looking to fill all sorts of positions.
You can learn more online at the official CityCenter job website.
Last night was Mamma Mia!s last show at Mandalay Bay. The show ran for six years, over 2,200 performances and 2 million audience members. That’s a whole lotta Dancing Queen. Things must have really slowed down towards the end because we received fliers here advertising 50% off tickets for locals.
The Lion King replaces Mamma Mia! starting in early May.
