It can be down-right dangerous to live in Las Vegas (and not because of crime). One of the headlines on the news today was that an excessive heat warning remains in effect in Southern Nevada. We’ll be baking in record temperatures ranging from 113-118. Yippee!
An excessive heat warning is issued when outdoor heat is expected to reach dangerous levels that would stress the body if precautions aren’t taken.
By “precautions” I assume they mean proper hydration, wearing light-colored and loose-fitting clothing and using sunblock. Only being out-and-about in the early morning or late afternoon is another good way to avoid the excessive heat.
